Winter Evergreen
Cool winter evergreens and silver frosted beads with dove and gunmetal grey pearls, and this unusual fresh mottled green glass and guilloché enamel buckle, set with diamanté cut crystals. It suggests the cool onset of winter, with frost over pine forests….
This Art Deco Czech glass buckle in shades of emerald green guilloché enamel has a moulded glass centre panel with a raised pressed floral pattern, picked out in black. The Art Deco sunray pattern is displayed in spiky design, so typical of the era, set each side of the centre with diamanté stones to catch the light; all stones are present and in perfect condition.
The white metal frame securely holds the central glass panel and enamel outer panels. It is a very attractive design and typical of the era and is back stamped with the country of origin – Czechoslovakia.
The two knotted (on green silk) necklace strands measure 61cms (24inches) and 63.5cms (25 inches). The strings comprise 10mm dyed green matt agate round beads with off-set drilled 6mm dove and gunmetal grey freshwater pearls, spaced with sparkling aurora borealis cut bi-cone crystals.
The buckle measures 8cms (3.25 inches) long, and 4cms (1.5 inches) at its widest point. Buckle necklaces are usually designed for the buckle ‘clasp’ to be positioned at the side front, when worn.
There is an accompanying matching bracelet measuring 20cms (8 inches) with a silver lobster clasp and a 1.5 inch extension chain.
