Copper Freshwater Baroque Coin Pearls

and Vintage Beads

PP336BES24SET

Fully knotted on silk, this is a string of dyed copper, freshwater baroque coin pearls and vintage aventurine glass beads with ceramic ‘shiny conker’ beads and metal spacers.

These freshwater pearls originate from China and measure 15-18mm, varying a little due to their unusual shape.  These are referred to as coin pearls because they are nucleated with a coin-shaped bead but when they are being coated, the freshwater oysters do not necessarily coat them evenly, hence the unusual shapes and surface unevenness; this makes each pearl unique.

They are strung alternating with round, white 7mm glass beads with copper aventurine trailing, and off-round conker brown ceramic beads with a high shine finish.  The beads and pearls are spaced with vintage metallic spacer beads.  The necklace length is 56cms (22 inches) and has 12 copper coin pearls.

The ring bolt clasp is stamped 925 silver gilt.  It opens by pulling back the trigger, to reveal an opening into which you hook the silver gilt double ring, before releasing the trigger.  It is very secure.

The necklace is sold with a matching pair of copper coin pearl and bead drop earrings, on gold-plated hook-backs, for pierced ears.
