Lady Greensleeves

Fresh aqua greens and a little sparkle, in this delightful fresh mottled green glass buckle necklace.  It suggests bubbling brooks and early springtime leaves!

This Art Deco Czech glass buckle in two shades of pale green and cream is moulded with the typical sun ray pattern, popular throughout that era, with silver surfaces to highlight the triangles.  The white metal frame securely holds the glass panels, and the centre is set with diamanté stones, which catch the light.

The buckle has been fixed in a closed position to secure the glass.   It is a very attractive design and typical of the era and is back stamped with the country of origin – Czechoslovakia.

The two knotted (on silk) necklace strands measure 61cms (24inches) and 68cms (27 inches).  The strings comprise green dyed agate flat oval beads with tubular green lace agate beads both around 12mm long and sparkling aurora borealis cut crystals.  There are silvertone period spacer beads to complement the silvertone buckle frame.

The buckle measures 9cms (3.5 inches) long, and 3cms (just over 1 inch) at its widest point.  Buckle necklaces are usually designed for the buckle ‘clasp’ to be positioned at the side front, when worn.

There is an accompanying matching bracelet measuring 20cms (8 inches) with a silver lobster clasp and a 1.5 inch extension chain.

The necklace set is sold with a pair of silver-plated hook-back drop earrings for pierced ears with matching beads.
