Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of very large, lilac pink freshwater coin pearls with distinctive gold overtones.
The distinctive gold overtones and good lustre (the surface shine) make them shine with a metallic gleam. These freshwater pearls originate from China and the pink shades are natural; only freshwater creatures can produce the pink range of colours naturally.
This necklace is a stunning string of coin pearls measuring 12-15mms each. These are referred to as coin pearls because they are nucleated with a coin-shaped bead but when they are being coated, the freshwater oysters do not necessarily coat them evenly, hence the unusual shapes and surface unevenness; this makes each pearl unique.
The necklace length is 50cms (19.5 inches) and has 22 pearls.
The ring bolt clasp is 925 silver rose gilt. It opens by pulling back the trigger, to reveal an opening into which you hook the silver gilt ring, before releasing the trigger. It is very secure.
The set is completed with a pair of matching drop earrings with ball and post and butterfly backs, also in rose gold silver gilt, for pierced ears.
