Fully knotted on silk, this delightful and elegant vintage necklace is attributed to Louis Rousselet.  

 

The design is typical of his period and features green swirl glass beads, like mock Peking glass, which was a favourite of designers of the time.  This necklace design is quite distinctive of his design house in Paris.  

 

The necklace measures 41cm (just under 16inch) and the beads are individually knotted on the silk and it fastens with the original barrel screw clasp, signed ‘MADE IN FRANCE’ and usual for a Rousselet original.

 

This is a wonderful example of a period necklace by a well-known and celebrated French jewellery designer.
