Gold/Lilac ‘Peanut’ Freshwater Pearls

FW350S13SET

Hand-knotted on pink silk, this necklace is made from gold/lilac pink peanut pearls with strong gold overtones, alternating with gold galvanised glass mini Miyuki beads to add a twinkle to the final design.

These pearls are called ‘peanut’ because of their shape.  They are nucleated using two beads, which join in the layering of the liquid nacre, the natural process of pearl production inside the body of the mollusc.  As they are natural in final shape, they do vary.

The necklace measures 47cms (18.5 inches) long and has 50 peanut pearls.

The clasp is a silver gilt bolt ring, which opens by pulling back the trigger to fasten and release, catching the opposing double ring.

The set is completed by a pair of matching gold-plated hook backed earrings for pierced ears.
