White Freshwater Pearl and Vintage Blue Glass Beads

Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of elongated oval white freshwater cultured pearls, alternating with moulded grooved blue glass vintage beads.
The pearls have a silver overtone and a particularly good lustre (the surface shine). These pearls originate from China and come from large freshwater mussels.
The pearls measure 10-12mm and are elongated oval, or teardrop in shape. The oval blue beads measure 7mm long. The necklace measures 56cms (22 inches) long.
The beads date from the late 1950’s and are created in a mould in two halves, before joining them together to make the final bead.
The filigree oval flat pearl clasp is 925 silver. It opens by squeezing the edges of the flat hook to remove it from, or push it into, the filigree oval clasp. This is a traditional pearl necklace clasp and is very secure.
The necklace is sold with a matching bracelet with a silver bolt ring clasp and extension. It measures 20cms (8 inches) and can extend up to 22inches if the extension is used.
There is also a pair of bead and pearl drop matching earrings, on silver-plated hook-backs, for pierced ears.
