White Freshwater Pearls and Vintage Satin Glass Beads

PP256ES33SET

Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of round white freshwater cultured pearls, alternating with twisted rhomboid, satin swirl green glass vintage beads.

The pearls have a silver overtone and a particularly good lustre (the surface shine).  These pearls originate from China and come from large freshwater mussels.

The pearls measure 6/7mm and are round baroque in shape.  The rhomboid beads measure 12mm and 15mm.  The necklace measures 69cms (just over 27 inches) long.

The beads date from the late 1950’s and are created with a swirl of two-coloured glass in two shades of green.  The finish has a satin look and changes subtly in the light. The clasp is a silver gilt bolt ring.

The necklace is sold with a matching double strand bracelet with a silver gilt lobster claw clasp and extension.  It measures 20cms (8 inches) and can extend up to 22inches if the extension is used.

There is also a pair of bead and pearl drop matching earrings, on gold-plated hook-backs, for pierced ears.
