White Baroque Coin Pearls and Amethyst Beads

Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of white baroque coin pearls and amethyst beads with tiny silver galvanised glass Miyuki spacers.
These freshwater pearls originate from China and this necklace is a distinctive mixed string of coin pearls measuring from 10mm to 18mm each.
They are referred to as coin pearls because they are nucleated with a coin-shaped bead but when they are being coated, the freshwater oysters do not necessarily coat them evenly, hence the unusual shapes and surface unevenness; this makes each pearl unique.
The pearls alternate with oval flat amethyst beads and smaller cone amethyst spacers. The necklace length is 53cms (21 inches) and has 27 pearls and amethysts.
The etched toggle clasp is 925 silver. It fastens by pushing the T-Bar into the loop.
The set is completed with a pair of matching drop earrings with silver-plated hook backs for pierced ears.
