Long White Mother-Of-Pearl Oval Beads

Knotted on silk, this is a mixture of high lustre white oval mother-of-pearl beads alternating with faceted turquoise howlite beads.
Mother-of-pearl is the shell of pearl-bearing molluscs and can be carved and ground smooth; it is the same composite nacre that makes up a real pearl.
The beads measure approx. 12mm long and the howlite beads are 4mm. The beads alternate with silver Miyuki galvanised glass spacer beads to add a twinkle!
The necklace length is 115cms (56 inches) and can be wound around to make a multi-string waterfall necklace, if preferred.
The clasp is the original silvertone screw barrel.
The necklace is sold with a matching pair of drop earrings, on silver-plated hook-backs, for pierced ears.
