This is a restored 1940’s classic short French jet black glass choker, now secured on jewellery wire.  

 

‘French Jet’ is a specific type of black glass, originally created in Paris, to mimic real jet, which had become scarce and expensive at the time.  The necklace is made from 6-20mm graduated faceted rhomboid and cubic French jet beads and has a new silver-plated lobster claw clasp.  

 

The French jet faceted beads are spaced with round black glass spacers. It measures 48cms (19 inches).
