Vintage 1930’s French Triple Ruffle Glass Necklace

Fully restored and knotted on silk, these 1930’s glass beads are French and were probably made in the Louis Rousselet factory.

The clasp is stamped ‘Made in France’ on the reverse and the necklace came with most of the beads, but sadly damaged.  It has been restored using beads of the same era and is now a magnificent example of a period 3-string unique ‘halo’ piece.

The beads have been graduated (organised in size order) and the three strings ‘scheduled’ made to evenly spaced lengths, which hang one above the other when worn.  The clasp is designed to hang on the right front side so it can be seen.

The pink 5mm ruffle glass beads alternate with round satin beads, which graduate from 3-7mm.  The necklace measures 56cm (22 inches) and 6cm (24 inches) shortest drop to longest drop.

The clasp is the original French brass backed triple slide and push clip, with a stunning moulded pink glass cabochon centre.

There is no damage to the beads.  A remarkable restoration project with a stunning result!
