Vintage 1920’s Folded Glass Beads

Strung on the original linen thread, these are late 1920’s folded glass beads.

Each bead has been made from pale coffee coloured glass, overlayed with green and white glass and folded to form leaves and petal shapes, all before the glass cools and hardens. These are often European, from France or Czechoslovakia and each bead is made individually, so they are all unique.

The beads are beautifully formed and graduate in size throughout the necklace. The larger beads measure from around 15mm and the smaller beads measure 7mm.   The necklace measures 44cms (just over 17 inches) and contains 33 folded glass beads.

The clasp is the original brass bolt ring. The necklace is secure and in excellent condition.  There is no visible damage to the beads and is very pretty example of this style necklace.
