On Summer Water
This is a stunning guilloche and champlevé enamel Art Nouveau buckle and dates from the early 20th century. It is French in origin and the extraordinary detail of the enamelling and summer colours are simple and natural.
Even the Art Nouveau flowing ribbons of blue and white enamel catch the waves on water, as the dragon flies hover... It has been enamelled on brass, in a wonderful flowing design, which is reflective of the era.
A simple but opulent statement piece with two strings of knotted beads and real pearls; you will see tiny faceted turquoise and round dark blue agate beads, mottled pale blue aqua marines, and pale golden pink moonstones, alternating with white oval real freshwater pearls.
The strings measures 56cms (22 inches). The buckle measures 11cms (4.5 inches) long, and 5cms (just over 2 inches) wide.
The necklace is sold with a pair of gold-plated hook back drop earrings made from matching pearls, agates, aquamarines and moonstone beads.
