This stunning bright acid yellow glass buckle bow captures the sunburst Art Deco theme in silver rays, over the textured yellow glass folds.
The buckle is a wonderful example of moulded glass in the Art Deco style and is a very unusual and vibrant colour. The necklace to which it is strung is a three-strand mixture of period glass beads with silver galvanised glass Miyuki spacers. It’s rare to find perfect period glass buckles, especially if they have metallic surface decoration like this one.
The central string is made from 10mm yellow acrylic beads separated by 3mm glass beads of the same period. It is flanked by two rows of 3mm and 4mm acid yellow glass beads and the spacer beads are spread throughout, picking up the silver decoration on the buckle itself.
The strings are knotted on yellow silk thread. The strings graduate in length from the shortest at 76cms (30 inches) to the longest at 84cms (33 inches).
The buckle measures 8cms (3 inches) long, and 5cms (just under 2 inches) wide.
The necklace is sold with a pair of silver-plated hook-backed drop earrings made from matching beads, for pierced ears.
