Pink Freshwater Biwa Pearls

FWB289S28

Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of pale peach pink biwa, cultured freshwater pearls.

They have a gold overtone and very good lustre (the surface shine).  These freshwater pearls are the flat oblong shape because they are named after Lake Biwa in Japan, where biwa pearls were originally nucleated using slivers of bamboo (biwa means bamboo).   Many Biwa pearls are now produced in China.

This necklace is a string of pale peach biwa pearls measuring approximately 12 - 15mms long.  The necklace length is 56cms (22 inches) and has 64 pearls.

The silver bolt ring clasp has a 2.5-inch extension chain, with a pink coin pendant, to lengthen the necklace, if required.  It is very secure.
