Pale Petal Pink Round Edisons
Named Edison in the West, after the inventor of the lighthouse light, because they are so shiny! In the East they are known as ‘Starburst’ pearls.
They have a silver overtone and good lustre (the surface shine), but there are slight surface marks on the nacre, which are natural to these pearls. These freshwater pearls originate from China, where the oysters are nucleated using the same method as South Sea pearls.
The soft pink shades are natural and rose pink is one of the rarest colours of pearl. Only freshwater creatures can produce the pink range of colours naturally.
This necklace is a gentle string of soft petal pinks and the larger pearls measure 10mms, with tiny matching pink seed pearls as spacers. The necklace length is 46cms (18 inches) and has 33 larger pearls.
The ring bolt clasp is 925 silver gilt. It opens by pulling back the trigger, to reveal an opening into which you hook the silver ring, before releasing the trigger. It is very secure.
The necklace is sold with a matching pair of drop earrings with 10mm Edison pearls, on gold-plated hook-backs, for pierced ears.
