Mixed Golden Copper Edisons

Fully knotted on silk, this is a set of mixed golden and copper coloured, round cultured freshwater Edison pearls.

Named Edison in the West, after the inventor of the lighthouse light, because they are so shiny!  In the East they are known as ‘Starburst’ pearls.   They have a golden overtone and good lustre (the surface shine).

These freshwater pearls originate from China, where the oysters are nucleated using the same method as South Sea pearls.  The copper shades are natural, and pink is one of the rarest colours of pearl.  Only freshwater creatures can produce the pink range of colours naturally.

This necklace is a subtle mixture of soft dark pinks and copper tones and the pearls measure from 10mms to 13mms.  The necklace length is 46cms (18 inches) and has 35 pearls.

The ball rocker clasp is 925 rose silver gilt.  It opens by pressing the button, to reveal an opening into which you push the bullet.  Rather like a snapdragon flower!  It is very secure.

The necklace is sold with a matching pair of drop earrings with 10mm pearls, on rose gilt silver ball and post findings with butterfly backs, for pierced ears.
