Long Mixed Golden Round Smooth and

Baroque Edison Pearls

Named Edison in the West, after the inventor of the lighthouse light, because they are so shiny!  In the East they are known as ‘Starburst’ pearls.

They have a golden overtone and good lustre (the surface shine). These freshwater pearls originate from China, where the oysters are nucleated using the same method as South Sea pearls.

The creamy pink and golden shades are natural, and pink is one of the rarest colours of pearl.  Only freshwater creatures can produce the pink range of colours naturally.  This necklace is a gentle mixture of soft ivory and creamy pinks in alternating smooth round and gold baroque shapes.

The pearls measure from 11mms to 13mms.  The necklace length is 90cms (35.5 inches) and has 63 large pearls.

The press button clasp is 925 silver gilt.  It opens by squeezing the button on the ball to reveal an opening, into which you push the bullet, until it clicks shut; to open, press the button to release the bullet. It is very secure.

The necklace is sold with a matching pair of baroque gold Edison drop earrings with 13mm pearls, on silver gilt ball and post findings with butterfly backs, for pierced ears.
